Producers:
- Microchip puppies at five weeks of age.
- Producer must provide a four generation pedigree on all purebred animals, (the pedigree charges to the store should more than cover this charge, producers using united all breed will have their pedigrees for free as part of their registration).
- Vet check for defects at six weeks of age.
- Follow shot record.
- Go to www.petboardoftrade.com (or call Independent Producer Assistant nearest you.)
- Go to log in - provide the required fields (those in red) the system will not allow you to go forward without all fields being filled out.
- Get user name and temporary password (you will change to your permanent password once you are a user).
- Go to post an auction. Fill out the form (you will need to fill out one form for each animal).
- Pictures are an effective marketing tool! You should take all pictures in a pleasant environment, with a light or contasting background, (we highly recommend that you do not take them in or around their cage).
- Establish your minimum bid, this bid will be the lowest bid price that you will take for your puppy/kitten (your Independent Producer Assistant can help guide you with the pricing process).
- Establish the payment in which you will be satisfied with, please keep in mind that the more restrictions you have, the fewer bidders you will have. The producer may utilize cash on delivery (COD), company check, credit and debit cards, wire transfer, personal check. and of course you may offer terms, (ie: 14 day, 30 day). Cash will not be accepted through carriers. If pay with personal check the auction will only be posted after the check has cleared the bank, to pay for services on PBT.
- The producer may utilize Pay Pal, Sure Pay, or The Escrow Company to take credit/debit or wires from stores.
- Establish and list your Warranty - again the more restrictions there are the fewer bidders you will have. PBT recommends arbitration - this binds both parties to binding arbitration.
- The producer will receive emails confirming dates and times for shipping. The local Independent Producer Assistant (hauler) will be notified as well and the producer should coordinate through the Independent Producer Assistant.
- The Producer can utilize model invoices (available on PBT website) and can actually invoice online, if they so desire. Remember, each animal is treated as a separate inventory. The add-ons on the price of each is automated so that the producers are brought into this revenue stream, a stream that the broker has commonly held in the past.
- Health Certificates and shot records will be available on-line to the purchasing store at completion of each auction, so they must be kept current.
